Casperome® formulation maximizes the delivery of the whole bouquet of boswellic acids, that is the triterpenoic acids of Boswellia serrata endowed with healthy inflammatory support activity via backed-up mechanisms:
• inhibition of cathepsin G (catG), a protease enzyme which can regulate immune reaction and inflammatory response by modifying chemokines, cytokines, and cell surface receptors, and activate some lymphocytes;
• inhibition of cytokines involved in inflammatory process, such as TH1, t TNF-α and interleukins (IL-1β);
• inhibition of enzymes crucial for modulation of inflammatory response, such as microsomal prostaglandin E synthase (mPGES)-1, involved in prostaglandins synthesis;
• inhibition of the synthesis of 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO), enzyme involved in synthesis of leukotrienes.
